We are looking for a RapidAuthor / S1000D / Technical Publications Consultant to support a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment covering engineering and manufacturing systems.

The Technical Publications Consultant will provide specialist expertise in S1000D, technical publications and publication workflows, with particular focus on how technical-publication information can participate in the wider Teamcenter/SLM digital thread..

Key Responsibilities

• Provide S1000D and technical-publication subject-matter expertise.
• Support assessment of technical-publication processes within the Teamcenter/SLM environment.
• Analyse publication workflows and data flows.
• Support integration of technical-publication data with PLM/SLM processes.
• Work with Teamcenter consultants to understand:
  • Data-module relationships
  • Publication structures
  • Product structures
  • Configuration
  • Applicability/effectivity
  • Change management.
• Support RapidAuthor-based technical-publication workflows where applicable.
• Analyse existing technical-publication data and identify opportunities for reuse/absorption.
• Support S1000D XML/data-module assessment.
• Define requirements for technical-publication data exchange.
• Support E2E scenarios involving engineering change → publication impact.
• Support publication traceability within the digital thread.
• Contribute to S-Series capability assessment.
• Support migration/import/export trials involving publication data.
• Produce process maps, requirements and technical recommendations.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong S1000D
• Experience with technical publications and publication lifecycle processes.
• Experience with XML-based technical documentation.
• Experience with RapidAuthor or comparable S1000D authoring/publishing environments.
• Understanding of S1000D data modules and publication structures.
• Experience working with engineering change and configuration-controlled technical information.
• Aerospace/defence experience preferred.
