Solution Architect – SLM & Technical Documentation

Location: Europe / North America (Remote working)

Status: Full time permanent employee

Salary: Negotiable based on experience

CAD-IT is a global dynamic software sales and consulting company focusing primarily on industrial aftermarket, Service Lifecycle Management (SLM) and Augmented Reality application in Service.  We are global partners with Siemens PLM, Cortona3D, ATP and Re’Flekt.

Due to expanding business we are looking to recruit a Solution Architect with experience of Technical Documentation systems and Service Lifecycle. You will be reporting directly to our Services Lead and will join a dynamic team providing cutting edge expertise to our customers in Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Rail and Heavy Industry.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include working with the project teams during requirement capture and design, and delivering cost effective, supportable technical application solutions that meet the customer’s needs.  You will be required to:

  • Analyze current technologies used within the company and determine ways to improve the solutions we deliver including:
    • PLM and Content Management Systems
    • Publishing solutions – IETP, Web Portals
    • Augmented Reality
    • Advanced Diagnostics
    • IOT
  • Be the go-to expert on global tech doc standards like XML, S1000D, DITA, XSLT, FOP, PDF, HTML5 etc
  • Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed solutions
  • Provide detailed design and specifications for proposed solutions
  • Account for possible project challenges on constraints including risks, time, resource and scope
  • Work closely with project management teams to successfully monitor progress of initiatives

Essential Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have most of the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in working with and knowledge of XML, S1000D, DITA
  • Strong working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter and/or other enterprise content management solutions
  • Working knowledge of PLM implementations
  • Experience in configuring enterprise systems
  • Experience of Information Systems and Server/Client/Cloud Infrastructure
  • Experience of supporting software implementations and upgrades
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred
  • Experience in software engineering and design architecture

  • DBA experience
  • Teamcenter Customisation
  • Migration Experience
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

Application Engineer - AR/VR

Location: USA (Ideally North Carolina, but remote working considered)

You will join a team who provide cutting edge expertise in Service Lifecycle Management, technical publications solutions and content creation, working across a wide variety of industrial sectors including Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Rail and Heavy Industry.

Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

  • BS in Engineering and 3+ years of experience as an Application or Presales Engineer
  • Strong understanding of immersive technology (AR, VR, interactive designs, or real time graphics)
  • Ability to be a self-starter who acts independently to provide solutions to technical challenges and demands presented by customers
  • Strong oral and written communications skills a must
  • Strong skills in both creating and delivering customer presentations
  • Knowledge or understanding of data management systems such as Teamcenter
  • Ability to work across different functions to build solutions
  • Ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks, while managing flexible internal and external deadlines
  • Professional approach to dealing with internal and external customers

Key Job Tasks:

  • Create immersive technology content to present to customers
  • Create and present technical training curriculums
  • Travel to customer and industry partner facilities to execute projects and conduct advanced technical training sessions. Up to 30% travel time per year
  • Provide technical support to current and prospective customers
  • Perform detailed reviews of customer specifications, providing comments, clarifications, and alternatives to customer requirements
  • Support the development of cost estimates for opportunities
  • Communicate directly with the customer supporting requests in a timely manner via phone, email and visits
  • Work with Engineering and Operations to assure information is transferred properly
  • Provide recommendations on pricing and risk exposure, as well as ways to mitigate such risk to management
  • Attend training to develop relevant product knowledge, sales techniques, and skills
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Present a professional image to customers and suppliers

In order to build upon this success and our growing business, we require a proven Sales and Business Development professional who can add significant value to the operation through solution sales of $40k to $300K.

Expectations & measures of success in this role

The Sales/Business Development professional will take ownership of their territory and proactively deliver on sales and business development KPIs

You will develop current relationships, expand sales and develop new opportunities. You should possess high intellectual curiosity with the drive and initiative to be a self-starter. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be experienced at tailoring approach and messaging to customers and situation.

  • Pro-active sales activities of AR, SLM and PLM products and services:
  • seeking out & winning business from new and existing clients
  • developing key accounts
  • organizing events and promoting CAD-IT at conferences, trade shows and Siemens events.
  • Ensuring excellent customer care and service through the presentation of products to new & existing clients and interested parties.
  • Identifying, suggesting and facilitating any necessary changes or strategic redirection to ensure the success of our operations and business development
  • Project planning and managing of resources: ensuring both client expectations are met (or exceeded) and company efficiency and targets are achieved.
  • Regular reporting of the regional marketplace, including competitor updates and analysis.
  • Supporting the preparation of product presentations.
  • Close co-operation with the executive management.
  • Awareness and co-operation with other areas of the Group.
  • Additional tasks as issued by the management. 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experienced Business Developer within PLM, AR or SLM related field
  • Must have enterprise level sales experience
  • A process oriented, consultative sales approach
  • Experienced in managing a sales operation would be beneficial
  • Structured and focused on operation methods as well as a strong strategic business understanding
  • Target oriented and proven record of success in generating new business

The position directly reports to the CAD-IT executive management. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Routine status reporting
  • Reliable sales forecasting
