IT Infrastructure Engineer

IT Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Sunderland 

Salary: Dependent on experience

Job Type: Full time, permanent - 39 hours/week with some occasional weekend working.

We are currently looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer to be located on a customer’s site in the Sunderland area. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively with minimal supervision following moderate on-site training and orientation. Daily tasks will include liaising with various business functions and departments. The successful candidate will need to perform hands-on technical tasks with a wide range of responsibilities.

Key Skills

  • Knowledge and experience of storage - SAN and NAS solutions, including HP 3PAR and MSA
  • Knowledge and experience in server virtualization (Microsoft Hyper-V)
  • Experience in using Microsoft Windows Update Services (WSUS)
  • Working knowledge of Anti-virus Client / Server Infrastructure (Symantec)
  • MS SQL database administration experience (not dev)
  • Knowledge of server and client backup solutions, such as Backup exec
  • Microsoft MCSE certification or equivalent experience / skills
  • Cisco CCNA or similar qualifications (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Firewall configuration and management
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within the IT industry
  • Ability to communicate and liaise with stakeholders at all levels
  • Clear and effective communication and reporting
  • Fluent in English language
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to Business and IS teams
  • To manage and coordinate their own workload effectively
  • Consideration of and interest in new technology adoption

2nd Line IT Support Engineer with Teamcenter Experience

We are looking for a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer with experience of supporting Siemens Teamcenter / NX-CAD to become part of an established team working in the automotive sector.

Key tasks:

  • To provide 2nd line IT support of applications running in a Windows 7 / 10 environment
  • To provide application support for Teamcenter / NX-CAD in Design and Manufacturing in the Automotive Environment – including logging and progressing support calls
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of test plans for the applications being supported
  • Evaluate and identify solutions to technical issues on supported applications

Education:

  • Degree or Apprenticeship in a relevant field

Key Skills:

  • Good Windows 7 / 10 administration skills
  • Good Windows Server 2008 / 2012 skills
  • Experience in application support of Teamcenter
  • Experience in application support NX CAD product suite
  • Excellent analytical and diagnostic capabilities to resolve user issues
  • Experience of 1st / 2nd line support using a recognised ticketing system

We are presently seeking a Teamcenter Consultant to work with our SLM team. In this role you will be a subject matter expert in Teamcenter. You will have substantial experience of using the Teamcenter tools, from administration, configuration, development, and upgrades. Responsibilities

CAD-IT UK Ltd is seeking to fill a Technical Author role. This role will be based at the CAD-IT facility in Northamptonshire on a permanent basis, working with an established Technical Publications team.

We are looking for someone who has had previous technical authoring experience in the following areas to join the team and become involved in developing, writing and delivering technical documentation:

  • Aerospace industry
  • Automotive
  • Rail / Rolling Stock
  • Or experience in a similar electro-mechanical Technical Author role

Expectations of this role

We write Dealer letters, warranty documents, and so on, using Plain English and we use Simplified Technical English (STE) for all procedural and descriptive documents. We are looking for a candidate that has a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. You must interpret complex topics and deliver them in an easily understood and unambiguous way. To multitask and balance priorities is desirable as these can change frequently. You need to write in an appropriate style depending on the intended audience for example: Dealers, customers or staff.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word (using document templates and styles) and Microsoft Excel
  • An eye for detail and accuracy in both writing and document formatting and layout
  • Write in a ‘tone’ for the target audience
  • Good communication skills with all business levels from Directors to technical subject specialists in all business areas, in a global company
  • Produce documents using a combination of methods from various data sources

Working with a prestigious OEM in the West Midlands at our Daventry site, you will join our Technical Publications team who deliver owner manuals, service repair methods, workshop manuals, illustrated parts catalogues and other dealer documentation.

We are looking for someone who has experience with Electrical Diagnostics or an experienced Automotive Electrician to join the team and become involved in writing, developing and delivering diagnostic documentation.

Expectations of this role

As an Electrical Diagnostic Author, you will be expected to support all aspects of diagnostic technical authoring, testing and solution development using the diagnostic software program used by our customer. We are looking for candidates who have attention to detail and excellent communication skills. You must interpret complex topics and deliver them in an easily understood and unambiguous way. The ability to multitask and balance frequently changing priorities is essential.
