CAD-IT UK Ltd is presently seeking a Product Specialist. You will be joining a team who provide cutting edge expertise in Service Lifecycle Management (SLM), technical publications solutions and content creation, working across a wide variety of industrial sectors including Aerospace & Defence, Automotive, Rail and Heavy Industry.

We are a global, dynamic, software sales and consulting company focusing primarily on industrial aftermarket, Service Lifecycle Management (SLM) and Augmented Reality application in Service.  We are global partners with Siemens PLM, Cortona3D, ATP and Re’Flekt.

We will provide the successful candidate with training to become a subject matter expert in CAD-IT products and software solutions, primarily Cortona3D RapidDeveloper. You must be a competent industry professional, able to support our Solutions Architects and our global customers by delivering a variety of services with quality code.

Expectations of the role

  • Work closely with the Solution Architects to ensure technical accuracy of implemented solutions
  • Take responsibility for the timely delivery and quality of the technical components of solutions

Skills, experience and knowledge

  • Expert experience of XSLT, JavaScript and XML authoring
  • Experience in customising an XML editor such as XMetaL or oXygen is highly beneficial
  • Solid experience in XML and related technologies
  • Well organised and methodical
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Able to work well under pressure and adhere to customer deadlines
  • A strong team player, but equally be proactive and work on your own initiative

The role is to support design, development and testing, so applicants must have a broad development background and experience of working to a full project lifecycle, from specification to release, solution maintenance and bug fixing.

Experience of security and application frameworks and working with case management systems is required. The successful candidate should also have a good working knowledge of the following:

  • DITA OT
  • CSS
  • VB
  • GIT
  • Source Control
  • DTDs

 

Any server-side programming language (PHP) would be an advantage. Insight into and experience of any language is advantageous.

Diagnostics Author

Based at: Gaydon/Daventry

CAD-IT UK Ltd are seeking to fill a Diagnostics Author role. Working with a prestigious OEM in the Midlands you will join our Technical Publications team to create and deliver diagnostic solutions which enable the global dealer network to identify and resolve vehicle faults.

We are looking for someone who has experience with vehicle diagnostics and a basic understanding of electronic systems to join the team and become involved in writing, developing and delivering diagnostic documentation.

Expectations of this role:

As a Diagnostics Author, you will be expected to support all aspects of diagnostic technical authoring, testing and solution development. We are looking for candidates who have attention to detail and excellent communication skills. You must interpret complex topics and deliver them in an easily understood and unambiguous way. The ability to multitask and balance frequently changing priorities is essential.

Essential Skills:

  • Understanding of program development and integration
  • Use of Microsoft Office packages
  • An eye for detail and accuracy
  • Ability to diagnose faults in a logical and concise manner
  • Good communication skills with all business levels, from Directors to technical subject specialists in all business areas, in a global company

  • To support the diagnosing of complex faults based on an initial symptom / DTC

You will join a business who deliver technical publications for a range of leading automotive, aerospace, rail, industrial, construction and agricultural manufacturing customers.

We are interested in individuals with relevant qualifications and/or experience in related vehicle engineering, electrical, mechanical, diagnostic, body repair or technical documentation fields.

Person Specification:

  • You must have experience or confidence in dealing with automotive electrical and/or mechanical systems and other technical information.
  • Flexible with the ability to multi-task, work proactively, independently and manage multiple projects is essential.
  • A knowledge of XML, HTML, Microsoft programmes like Excel, Word, Project, Visio, PowerPoint, CAD modelling software and CMS systems is a distinct advantage.
  • The ability to conduct yourself professionally in a customer facing environment, and to liaise confidently with engineers and senior management is important.
