CAD-IT UK Ltd are seeking a Body Repair Manual Engineer to join a friendly and collaborative team, to develop,
write and deliver 3D CAD driven technical documentation for a rapidly growing automotive OEM.

We are interested in individuals with relevant qualifications and/or experience in related body repair, vehicle
damage assessor, body in white engineering, mechanical, paint and refinish or technical documentation fields.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Working in the Technical Authoring team and reporting to the Technical Publications Operations
    Manager, you will be required to:
  • Use 3D CAD models to investigate and analyse body structure and engineer repair procedures.
  • Use 3D data and illustrations to create repair procedures in the authoring tool.
  • Liaise with After Sales and Engineering counterparts to confirm technical information and seek sign off.
  • Create warranty estimates for paint, refinish and repair procedures, intended for the body repair network
    and approved repairers.
  • Feed back where necessary when vehicle engineering / design impacts on repairability.
  • Utilise knowledge of body repair to assess materials, determine cut lines, recommend joining methods etc.
  • Work with colleagues in Mechanical Electrical Trim (MET) authoring to determine pre-requisite
    procedures.

  • The ideal person will be self-motivated, organised, with a high attention to detail and dedication to
    consistently producing excellent quality work on time and on budget.
    Must have relevant industry experience and training in vehicle body construction methods, body accident
    repair, structural repair, paint and refinish.

•  Vehicle workshop experience is key – the role involves replicating workshop service operations in a
digital engineering environment so having a feel for realistic work parameters in service operations is
a must.
•  Prior experience working on hybrid and electric vehicles and internal combustion engines would be
highly beneficial! For example inspecting, maintaining and repairing vehicles to ensure safety.
•  Knowledge of Hybrid, EV and ICE automotive components.
•  Analytical skills and experience of troubleshooting.
•  Excellent communication and customer facing skills are essential – you’ll be working directly with our
customers.
•  A tenacious and can-do approach is imperative, as well as a consideration for health and safety, risks
and accessibility.
•  Excellent computer skills are important and experience of working in the 3D digital environment is
helpful. Use of CAD and CAD visualisation tools are an important part of the role. We will provide
training on all Technical Authoring software if needed!

The Vehicle Diagnostic Authoring Team Lead will join a friendly and collaborative team to develop and deliver technical information for a well-known automotive OEM.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be the contact point for team members to achieve and deliver projects efficiently and meet your team goals.
• Predominantly, you will support all aspects of diagnostic technical authoring, testing and solution development towards guided diagnostics.

• Determine and author the process workflow required to resolve faults which will be implemented into a guided diagnostic system.

Essential Skills:

The Senior Teamcenter Consultant will join our global Professional Services Team providing cutting edge expertise in Service Lifecycle Management (SLM), working across a wide variety of industrial sectors including Aerospace & Defence, Automotive, Rail and Heavy Industry.

We will train the successful candidate to be a subject matter expert for SLM in Teamcenter, however experience of using Siemens Teamcenter or other PLM tools, from administration, configuration, development and upgrades prospective is needed. You must be a competent industry professional, able to support our global customers by delivering a variety of services.

Responsibilities

  • Working with the project team during requirement capturing, and delivering cost effective, supportable technical application solutions that meet the business’s needs.
  • Configuring the applications based on requirements and designs captured by the solution architects.
  • Managing workload working across multiple projects

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strong working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter interface
  • Working knowledge of PLM implementations
  • Experience in configuring Teamcenter
  • Experience of Information Systems and Server/Client Infrastructure
  • Test automation coding and setup
  • Teamcenter customisation
  • Experience of supporting software implementations and upgrades
  • Full driving license
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good Windows server/client skills

  • User Helpdesk experience
  • DBA experience
  • Migration experience
  • Leadership experience or qualities, with the ability to assist in mentoring junior staff
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Not afraid to suggest new methods and processes where identified and ability to carry these through to proof of concept
  • Engineering background
  • Fluent in English language
